A few people had mentioned Hamish to me before I happened to see him speak at an event a couple of months back. His photo (the first in this sequence) had been chosen as the judges' favourite in a competition that asked for photographs capturing people's responses to the coastline of Gower.
It was pretty clear he had some serious talent. These aren't the typical shots of perfect waves or expertly excecuted manouevres that get the likes on Instagram, but I think they capture a beauty and a mood that many surfers on Gower - and further afield - will relate to. That particular chop of the cross-wind on the water's surface; the long walk across the dun sand to the low tide break; the moments alone bathed in soft light and seawater.
Keep your eye out for more from Hamish soon.
